BledCom 2010 draft programme available!

We are happy to announce a draft programme for BledCom 2010, available at BledCom.com website at http://www.bledcom.com/home/programme.

As you already know, the leading theme of the 17th BledCom Symposium is Government Communication. Experts in public relations and practitioners whose work is related to communication and public relations activities of government and government agencies will present and discuss their views in different formats. We are thus very proud that BledCom 2010 will begin with an introductory speech given by the honorary sponsor of BledCom 2010, President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr. Danilo Türk.

All key speakers at BledCom 2010 have had rich experiences in practicing government communication: Nada Serajnik Sraka, Matjaž Kek and Branko Vidrih from Government communication office in Slovenia will discuss capacity building in government communication in case of Slovenia. Klavs A. Holm (Under-Secretary for Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark) will present how diplomats will communicate in the Future and Hanna Brogren (Director of Communication, City of Stockholm, Executive Office) will reveal the communication strategy behind Stockholm’s long-term vision for sustainability and growth. Bipolar (communications) disorder on the evolution of U.S. and Russian approaches to public diplomacy after the cold war will be presented by Mark Dillen (Dillen Associates LLC, San Francisco, USA), while Anne M. Chermak (Dillen Associates LLC, San Francisco, USA) will discuss about the wonder years after the 1989 Revolutions.

BledCom 2010 will also see the authors of the winning papers sharing their view on government communication. Competitive papers sessions will be chaired by Jon White, Danny Moss, Ronél Rensburg, Ana Tkalac Verčič, Julia Jahansoozi, Richard Phillipps and Krishnamurthy Sriramesh.
